Welcome to Fr. Marcos Gonzalez's Page!

Father Gonzalez is well known to many as he has served as the Associate Pastor at St. Andrew parish from 1998 to 2005. Father was ordained in 1994 and celebrated his 25th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood this past July. He was born in Cuba and came to the U.S. as a child in 1971. He graduated from Pater Noster High School and then studied philosophy and liberal arts at St. John’s Seminary College earning BA degrees in philosophy and Spanish studies prior to his MDiv degree in divinity from St. John’s Seminary.
 
This past year he earned an additional MS in Ecclesial Administration and Management (MBA for church entities) from the Catholic University of America in Washington. In addition to parish ministry, he has served on the boards of a variety of organizations including Catholic Engaged Encounter and the California Association of Natural Family Planning and chaplain to various Catholic Cuban organizations. He is a Knight Commander in the Order of the Holy Sepulchre and is also currently serving as Commander in the Commandery of the West of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem. He has also been a Knight of Columbus since he was 18 years old.
 
In his 25 years as a priest in the Archdiocese, Fr. Gonzalez has served as Associate Pastor at St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Camarillo, St. Andrew and Holy Family in Glendale prior to 12 years as Pastor of St. John Chrysostom Church in Inglewood.
